Go Walking - follow the Leaflet!

his year Covid-19 has put a stop to our usual annual Autumn Footprints Amber Valley & Erewash Walking Festival. (12th to 27th September 2020). Normally this would consist of a range of guided walks led by local knowledgeable volunteers over sixteen days in September. However with Covid-19 restrictions this has had to be revised and there will be no led/guided walks.

Instead we have collected together some previously produced walk leaflets onto the website for you to enjoy in your own family/friends group – obviously observing strict social distancing guidance. We hope that during 12 to 27th September 2020 you will discover what wonderful walks there are in Amber Valley and Erewash in the heart of picturesque Derbyshire. Both boroughs are well known for their natural beauty, superb scenery, industrial heritage and attractive towns and villages. Both boroughs have extensive ranges of countryside walks leaflets, created in partnership with Groundwork Walks available to download:- • Amber Valley Routeways – a series of country walks in Amber Valley

Please note the leaflets have been produced over the last 20 years, so well before the Covid-19. Therefore, it may be that there are some public houses and cafes that are no longer in existence. There may be some sections where the paths are narrow. All routes are to be walked in accordance with strict government guidance on social distancing.

The festival is jointly organised by Erewash Borough Council; Amber Valley Borough Council; Derbyshire County Council, several parish councils, community groups and Groundwork.
