Free admission to the West Shed and our craft activities. The West Shed is located on the Swanwick Junction museum complex of the Midland Railway-Butterley. Normal access to the site is via a heritage train ride from Butterley Station (fare payable), alighting at Swanwick Station to walk up to the West Shed (approx. 430 metres walk including some uneven ground). October Half Term Family Fun at the West Shed Museum, Midland Railway – Crafts and ‘Wizards & Spooks Trains’!

Looking for something to entertain the kids during the October half term holidays? There's plenty to occupy them at the West Shed Museum with our family activities!
- Have a go at railway and Halloween themed craft activities and make a ‘junk model’ train.
- See our model railway in action and play with our wooden train set.
- Sit on our miniature engine and pretend to be a train driver.
- Do the 'Maggie Moggy' quiz and eye-spy trail.
Craft activities will be available Monday 23rd – Friday 27th October, 11am to 3.30pm - just drop in! Please note: children must be accompanied by an adult.
Elsewhere at the Midland Railway there will be 'Wizards & Spooks trains’ running every day from 21st – 29th October, along with a spooky decorated booking hall and magical entertainment.
