Literary Festival
Repton Literary Festival, 2019
Literary giants on your doorstep!
Repton is a home of stories, learning and the beginning of many autobiographies, so it seems only right to celebrate this special place with a literary festival of its own.
In 2018, the first Festival was created and enjoyed by many, so in October 2019, it's back - bigger and better, with many more artists, performances and historic venues! This year, the 300-seater theatre will host performances from some celebrated actors and writers, including the world-famous actor David Bradley (Game of Thrones!) and Nick Burns (Nathan Barley).
Set in the heart of the village, 'Repton Litfest' is a rich, varied programme of literature, art, music, poetry and many other activities for all to enjoy.
The event appeals to a wide range of interests – from local archaeology to Game of Thrones, politics to children’s writing competitions, poetry to biographies.
There is a strong focus on women writers and on crime fiction. There is even an explanation of how to build a boat and an analysis of TV crime drama series from the 1950s to the present day – a broad programme indeed!
There’s food and drink, workshops and children's events to keep the whole family entertained.
Little Village Big Stories!
