Water Power in the Derwent Valley, Past and Present
Ian Jackson has been involved in sustainability and environmental projects including the potential development of Hydro Power in the Derwent Valley and his research has led him to understand more about the growth of water power and it’s relating infrastructure at sites along the river. During this talk, Ian shares these findings and his thoughts on how the Derwent Valley used both natural and man-made systems to become an eco-friendly power house in the 18th Century, and whether we can utilise these sources again in the future.
Places are limited and advanced booking is recommended.
