I raise honeybees in South Derbyshire. I have about 90 hives. I keep them because they are important to us and they are under threat from loss of habitat, poor forage, parasites, disease, changes in farming practises and pesticides.

The honeybees help me help them by providing honey and wax. The honey is simply filtered and put in jars. The wax is made into products such as balms and polishes. You can also arrange to visit the bees and learn beekeeping with me. Check out my shop at www.thebeefarmer.co.uk.
