Bakewell Youth Theatre – Guys & Dolls

The talented youngsters of the renowned Bakewell Youth Theatre will be bringing another impressive musical to the Medway Community Centre, Bakewell. Guys & Dolls will be performed at the Community Centre on the 5th, 6th and 7th March, 7.30pm.

Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls features well known songs including ‘Luck Be a Lady’ and ‘Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat’.

Since 1978, Bakewell Youth Theatre has produced many of the ‘big name’ musicals including West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, Joseph and many more, and has never failed to wow its audience. Not only has Bakewell Youth Theatre produced many of these musicals, the youth theatre has also produced many talented performers that have gone on to have highly successful careers in the performing arts industry.

One of the success stories of Bakewell Youth Theatre is West End star and motion picture vocalist, Tom Pearce, who returned to Bakewell Youth Theatre this year to assist in choreographing the show-stopping number of Guys & Dolls, ‘Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat’.

As well as having choreographic assistance from Tom Pearce, Guys & Dolls has mainly been choreographed by professional choreographer and former professional dancer, Jilly Ferguson and West End star and three times Royal Variety Show performer, Andrew Edwards. Musical Direction for the show is by professional musical director, vocal coach, and former Bakewell Youth Theatre member, Chris Blackshaw. The show is directed by Sue Stones, founder of Bakewell Youth Theatre.

Although this is a production by a youth theatre, it will have a very professional element to it, as Bakewell Youth Theatre is proud to boast having, and producing, some of the best young talent in the area.

Tickets for this production are only: £8 – full price, £6 – concessions and £24 – family ticket (2 adults 2 children).
