Boost Your Career Prospects in 2019 at Derby College

Derby College is offering a wide range of part time and short courses to support people’s job and promotion prospects under its innovative Career Learning Ladder programme for adults.

Between January and August 2019, the College sites in Derby, Ilkeston and Morley are offering adult courses  in a number of areas which  are career focused to support people looking for a promotion push, a career change or to return to the workplace.

They include Access to Higher Education, Agriculture, Animal Care, Arboriculture, Beauty, Business, Childcare, Computer Science, Construction, Electrical Installation, Engineering, ESOL, English and other languages, Maths and ICT, Floristry, Health and Social Care, Horticulture, Hospitality and Catering, returning to work skills, Management, Motor Vehicle, Professional Construction, Retail and Sport.

Many of the courses are eligible for Advanced Learner Loans which enable people aged 19 and over to qualify now and pay later.

People on benefits can also receive funding and Derby College is part of a one-year trial to support people who earn less than £15,736.50 to upgrade their skills and boost their job prospects.

There are also a wide range of Learning for Leisure experiences which are short courses that are designed to be fun, interactive and informative.  These include Animal Experiences, Creative Arts, DIY, Food and Drink, Hair and Beauty, Equine, Languages and Humanities as well as Mind and Wellbeing.
