Derby Property Summit Special

Over 350 senior-level delegates from the property sector attended this week's  Derby Property Summit to hear a line-up of national and international speakers and panellists discuss the challenge of reimagining towns and cities.

Opening the Summit John Forkin, Managing Director at Marketing Derby, said "The way communities use their high streets is changing and towns and cities need to work out how to continue to evolve. The purpose of place is to create a customer  - we have to change the mix to make our cities and towns attractive places in which to live, work and to visit."

Vibrant programme announced for this year’s Hannells Darley Park Concert

The much-loved Hannells Darley Park Concert, one of the UK’s biggest outdoor classical concerts, will be returning on Sunday 1 September to the stunning natural amphitheatre of Darley Park. This year’s event will be supported by Hannells, Derby Telegraph, Flint Bishop Solicitors, Homes 2 Opportunities, HUUB, Mobile Solutions, Mortgage Advice Bureau, Stratstone BMW Derby and WDS Limited.

Six Derby Parks recognised as among the UK’s very best green spaces

Six parks in Derby; Chaddesden, Darley, Sunnydale, Alvaston, Markeaton and Derby Arboretum, have all been recognised by the Green Flag Award Scheme as among the very best in the world.

This international award, now in its third decade, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities.

We know that parks are places of enjoyment, a space for kids to play, for runners to exercise and for people to escape the hustle bustle of city life, but how much do you really know about your local park?  How do you find out about a park’s history and ecology?  How do you discover the walking trails and find out what events are happening, and when?

The Autumn show is taking place on 26th September at the Derby Conference Centre and bookings for exhibitors and delegates are now open.

Haddon Hall Care Home residents celebrate Fringe40!

Haddon Hall Care Home residents created a spectacular Fringe40 window display as part of a recent open day there.

Fringe Community Links officer Linda Rolland (pictured with residents) and Marketing Officer Stephanie Billen led the participants in a hands-on art workshop involving collage and painting. Earlier in the day residents were also treated to a display of art from the Buxton Art Trail with talks from some of the artists taking part.
