DUNCAN JAMES TO PERFORM AT THE HANNELLS DARLEY PARK CONCERT

Derby LIVE are delighted to announce that Blue singer, West End performer and Hollyoaks actor Duncan James is performing at the Hannells Darley Park Concert on Sunday 2 September. The headline star of pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk, Duncan is playing Jack at Derby Arena this Christmas.

FRIENDS OF MARKEATON PARK COMMEMORATE WAR CENTENARY

Following on from last year's success, the Friends of Markeaton Park (FoMP) are again staging the Dig for Victory event to pay tribute to all who fought in the two World Wars. The annual event supported by Derby City Council will take place on Sunday 26 August from 11am-4pm at Markeaton Park. The Dig for Victory event is free to visit and will be commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War and remembering life on the home front during World War 2.

Ant-Man and the Wasp (12A)

In the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to re-balance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he's confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.

World War 1 first for museum and art gallery

Paintings by a soldier who died in World War 1 are to be exhibited for the first time at Buxton Museum and Art Gallery.

Lieutenant Douglas Marshall Rigby, who grew up in Buxton, was killed in the Great War, 100 years ago.  

Lt Rigby’s artworks will be on display at the museum and art gallery in Terrace Road from 15 September until 10 November.

These include watercolours of northern landscapes, humorous caricatures and pencil drawings.  

BIG STORIES, LITTLE VILLAGE: FIRST LITERARY FESTIVAL TO BE HELD IN REPTON

Repton Village is to rediscover and celebrate its literary roots in a new 3 day programme of literature and events from 26th October - 28th October 2018.

Repton Literary Festival is the first of a new annual festival - telling stories, inspiring a new generation of writers, bringing engaging speakers to this Derbyshire village.

Long recognised for its accomplished alumni: Repton is author to great words, thoughts and deeds, burying kings, educating performers and growing sporting heroes.
