Traders invited to book their stalls for the festive shopping rush

Makers, crafters, and independent retailers are being invited to book a stall on Chesterfield Market in the build up to Christmas.

Market stalls are available on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays between 22nd November and 24th December. Casual traders and local creatives are being invited to sign up now to reserve their place.

Young Chesterfield musicians' grants

Young people, schools or other organisations in Chesterfield are able to apply for grants to help them continue and develop their music making

Thanks to a bequest from a local resident, Derbyshire County Council is offering individual grants of up to £500 for those aged 5 to 18, and grants of up to £2,000 for schools and other organisations operating in Chesterfield.

Derby BIDs Present Ram Trail Prize Draw Vouchers

Derby’s Cathedral Quarter and St Peters Quarter Business Improvement Districts (BID) have announced the winners of a prize draw organised as part of their involvement with this summer’s Derby Ram Trail.

The BIDs offered two winners the chance to win £100 each in vouchers to spend in their favourite city centre shops. Anyone who had spent £5 or more in a Cathedral Quarter or St Peters Quarter business was invited to enter the prize draw.

New crime novel released by Derby author, Jane Bettany

Without a Trace, the second book from Derby writer, Jane Bettany, is out as an eBook from the 29th October 2021.

Buxton Museum: Want to learn a new craft?

Our Buxton Museum and Art Gallery has a new workshop programme for adults.

This autumn, treat yourself and learn a new craft. The museum is running a choice of adult workshops (for over 14s) at the museum and nearby studios, with experienced artists and only a few participants. These all-day events, 10am-4pm, will suit beginners and experienced people.
