NEC gets Cleen with new toilet review app

The NEC’s commitment to customer experience has gone a step further with the introduction of a toilet and washroom review app. The UK’s leading exhibition venue is now using the UK’s first fully integrated management tool and review app, Cleen.

The Cleen App has been devised by Derby-based HSG. It is free to download and enables customers and visitors to log reviews of washrooms.

Cycling Challenge Flies the Flag For Derbados

Two Derby businessmen have once more laid down the gauntlet for others to join them for a weekend cycling challenge in Mallorca and Derbyshire in April – and brought their Olympian friends to Derby’s iPro stadium to formally launch the challenge.

Dean Jackson, founder and owner of triathlon kit specialists HUUB, and David Torrington, managing director of Sky Recruitment Solutions are planning the 200km challenge on April 16 and 17.

Brave Fundraisers Take Leap of Faith for Local Charity

Three University of Derby students are amongst a group of people who will take a leap of faith to raise money for Derby-based charity Safe and Sound on February 29.

Kelly Rawson (34), Lauren Nichol (23) and Mimina Bligh (20) are all studying Youth Work and Community Development at the University. 

New co-commissioned exhibitions by Anna Bunting-Branch and Dryden Goodwin part of Co-Lab Season in QUAD, Derby, 29th February to 5th April 2020

QUAD in Derby has a new season of exhibition and events starting in February as part of its ‘Co-Lab Season’. Co-Lab is a five week-long showcase of newly co-commissioned work by two artists who usually employ traditional techniques such as painting, drawing or sculpture, but have taken their way of working into Virtual Reality digital realm or film works. The artists featured are Anna Bunting-Branch and Dryden Goodwin.

Croots Farm Shop and Café adds the delicious Bangerooney sausage to its squad

A big-name star has been added at popular Derbyshire farm shop and café Croots as the Bangerooney joins the team.

The pork and caramelised onion with black pepper sausage joins the starting line-up to celebrate former England hero Wayne Rooney’s move to Derby County.

For the next three months, ten per cent of sales of the new banger will go to Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre – Croots Farm Shop’s adopted charity.

Croots Farm Shop and Café worthy of a place in national awards final, say fellow farm retailers

Successful Derbyshire farm shop and café Croots has been unveiled as a finalist in the prestigious national Farm Retail Awards.

Having made the shortlist, the farm shop and café at Farnah House Farm, Wirksworth Road, near Duffield, must now wait for the verdict of mystery shoppers from customer experience experts Insight 6 before the Farm Retail Association reveals the overall winner at an awards ceremony at the National FRA conference in Nottingham in early March.

Lubrizol breaks fundraising records to help prevent heartbreak

STAFF at a Derbyshire firm have put their heart and soul into raising a record-breaking sum of money for the company’s chosen charity and learned lifesaving skills in return.

Employees at Lubrizol, in Hazelwood, near Belper, have collected a total of £10,515 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) by organising and supporting a series of activities over the past 12 months.

Lubrizol has agreed to support the charity for two years and its staff wasted no time getting into fundraising action when the partnership was launched 12 months ago.

Enjoy ‘A Little Night Music’ With Sinfonia Viva

The Grammy-nominated orchestra of the East Midlands, Sinfonia Viva, returns to Derby Cathedral next month under the baton of principal conductor Frank Zielhorst for ‘A Little Night Music’ on March 25.

The programme starts with the programme’s inspiration - Mozart’s ‘Eine Kleine Nachtmusik’. 

The serenade is one of Mozart’s most enduringly-popular pieces of work. Completed in 1787, it was not published until 1827 – long after Mozart’s death – and is now an instantly recognisable piece used widely in television and film scores.  

Powerful Creative Project Focuses On Saving The Planet

A group of young people are working with Derby-based regional orchestra Sinfonia Viva on a creative project that tackles the emotive subject of global warming.

Students from Becket and Firs primary schools, The Bemrose School and Derby College are taking part in ‘Energy’ – the latest in the award-winning Orchestra’s series of projects aimed at bringing science, maths and technology subjects to life through music.
