City sports complex realised

Bondholder Derby City Council's vision for a Moorways Sport Village has taken a significant step forward. Bondholder Bowmer & Kirkland has been appointed as constructor for the £42m pool and water park which sits at the heart of the major leisure complex including an athletic stadium.

The new facility, scheduled to be completed by late 2021, will be part of Moorways Sports Village and will include a 50 metre swimming pool, water park and learner pool, alongside a gym, fitness studios, sauna and steam rooms.

Steve Chambers, Regional Director at Bowmer and Kirkland, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded this contract to build Moorways Sports Village.

“After forging an excellent relationship with the council during our construction of Derby Arena, we are looking forward to working with them for the construction of this exciting new addition to the leisure facilities in the city.”
