Cloaks - A play by Alison Dunne - Buxton Festival Fringe - 7th - 10th July 2016

Leicester’s fishhouse theatre are bringing their brand new production ‘Cloaks’ to Buxton Fringe in July.

Cloaks is a play set in a theatre cloakroom, where customers' coats become characters. Kath works in the theatre cloakroom and is friends with young, front of house worker, Sam.
Sam is leaving her job to join the Army and her plans force Kath to reflect on her own past and face up to the losses she’s had in her life.

Writer, Alison Dunne said, ‘The play looks at women’s lives, love and loss in a funny and tender way. Kath is played by Lesley Emery.  Charlotte Bond plays Sam, as well as numerous characters including both Kath’s mum and dad, her ex husband and an Ann Summers Party Host. She has a lot of quick changes as the coats become characters that interact with Kath!’

There will be 9 shows from the 7th to the 10th of July at the Lee Wood Hotel, Manchester Road, a very short walk up the hill from the Opera House. There is some parking at the hotel.

‘Leicester has been in the news a lot lately,’ Alison said, ‘and we want to do our bit to spread the word about our lovely, creative city. We’d love visitors to the Buxton Fringe to come along and see our brand new play.’
