Derby College Students Stage Apocalyptic Showcase Event

Students at Derby College’s Roundhouse campus have joined forces to stage a creative event to raise money for two local charities.

Business students organised a catwalk event as part of their study programme which showcased the skills of the Media Make Up students who created designs inspired by the film Mad Max.

Fellow students, friends and family attended the event which raised more than £150 to be shared between the College’s chosen charity, The Breakfast Club – providing a healthy start to the day for primary school children across the city – and Treetops Hospice in Ripley.

Items for the silent auction were donated by local businesses including Bounce Revolution, Svetlana Beauty and Escape Rooms Derby. 

Business Studies Lecturer Andrea Hickman said: “The evening was a huge success and raised a good amount of money for two very worthwhile causes.”
