Derby Museums’ seeks to build on its £23,000 fundraising success at its November Celestial Ball

On 10th November, Derby Museums aims to repeat last year’s success of raising £11,500, which was then doubled by the Heritage Lottery Fund with this year’s Celestial Ball.

A spearhead event in Derby Museums’ calendar, the Celestial Ball will be raising funds for the Derby Museums Endowment campaign, helping to secure the future of Derby’s Museums for everyone.  Over four years Derby Museums needs to raise £1 million, which will then be doubled by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The campaign has got off to a flying start, with £200,000 in donations and pledges received, however there is still a long way to go and this year’s Celestial Ball was be an essential event for the campaign.

The night will begin with a Prosecco reception at the Museum and Art Gallery, and a chance to explore our new gallery, before guests are invited to enjoy a three course dinner by Chef Ralph Skripek, an after dinner speech by Curator of Fine Art and Joseph Wright, Lucy Bamford and then a charity auction with the dynamic Charles Hanson. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for guests to get their toes tapping with some brilliant live music. An individual ticket costs £60 (or £600 for a table of ten).
