Derby Museums launches Let’s MAKE Christmas!

This weekend ‘Let’s MAKE Christmas’ launches at Derby Museum and Art Gallery shop, show-casing the work of the region’s most talented designers and makers in a celebration of contemporary craft.

There is a fantastic range of beautiful products including prints, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, photography, glass and greetings cards. All are made locally and are not usually available on the high street and would make really special and unique Christmas gifts.

Local Makers were really keen to be involved in the project and include Smallprint Company, Justine Nettleton, Jeff Mander, Kath Hampson- The Time being, Karoline Rerrie, Stevie Davies, Nicola Sanders, Jane Bevan, Parkwood Pottery, Rebecca Morledge, Alys Power. Derby Museums’ will be promoting the work of each of the makers every week in the lead up to Christmas.

Smallprint Company said:

“It’s a great opportunity to be involved with the fabulous team at Derby Museums and allows us to showcase our new range of prints inspired by Derby, alongside some of our popular designs. We’re really looking forward to being a part of Let’s MAKE Christmas!”

Stevie Davies said:

“Derby Museum & Art Gallery, its fabulous shop and wonderful staff have always been a great supporter of local artists/makers. Although I have had my work on display there for a number of years, I am always happy to bring new work to showcase to the visitors to the museum and maybe, they will like them enough to take them home.”
