Derbyshire Army Cadets Support Safe and Sound

Sinfin-based Derbyshire Army Cadet Force D Company have presented local charity Safe and Sound with a cheque for £1,000 that they have collected and raised.

Safe and Sound is a highly-regarded local charity which specialises in tackling child sexual exploitation and abuse through individual support for children and young people and community awareness programmes across Derbyshire.

The charity delivered an awareness session for cadet leaders at Derbyshire ACF (Mercian) to highlight about the dangers facing young people in local communities, which inspired the Company to support their work.

Safe and Sound marketing manager Rhiannon Hulse accepted the cheque on behalf of the organisation.

She said: “We are extremely grateful to Derbyshire ACT (Mercian) for their support and recognition of the importance of our work in local communities.

“The amount raised equates to providing specialist individual support for a young person in Derbyshire over several months to help them come to terms with what has happened to them and move forward with their lives.”
