Drawing and Painting Workshops: Still Life

Drawing and Painting Workshops: Still Life

Join us at Fleet Arts in Belper to work with professional artist Deb Allitt to learn and develop drawing and painting skills. Taking inspiration from a range of artists, Deb will support and guide you towards creating your own still life composition based on flowers, plants, ceramics, etc.

The sessions are suitable for those who have never done anything like this, and also experienced artists. The emphasis will be on ‘loosening up’ and above all enjoying working from still life subjects. They can be undertaken together, or individually.

Session 1:  Looking and drawing

Saturday 24 June 10-12

The first session will focus on developing ‘looking’ and drawing skills, learning from the work of still life artists.  You will need to bring a pencil, several sheets of paper to draw on and a board or pad to lean on.

Session 2: Drawing and painting

Saturday 22 July 10-12

The second session we will develop from drawing to painting, looking at composition and colour.  You will need thick, heavyweight paper that will accept watercolour, paints – either watercolour or acrylics, brushes, palette and a water pot.
