A festive show packed with terrific tales makes its way to Markeaton Park

Babbling Vagabonds, the team behind the production that was scheduled for the Guildhall Theatre throughout December will be heading to Markeaton Park’s Community Room with a family Christmas show.

Brothers Grimm in the night before, the night before Christmas, which has been created by the Babbling Vagabonds is set on Christmas Eve and tells the story of Will and Jake Grimm who find themselves in a lonely barn. The show conjures up colourful characters as they tell their terrific tales.

The hour-long show is at Markeaton Park from Wednesday 4 – Saturday 7 December and Wednesday 11 – Saturday 14 December.

Having taken a December residence at the Guildhall Theatre over previous years, including last year’s incredibly popular Dinosaur who came for Christmas; the Babbling Vagabonds were also behind the award-winning outdoor theatre production of Here Be Dragons which took families on a story-telling adventure around Markeaton Park this summer.

In September 2019, Derby City Council announced additional works on the Guildhall Theatre would mean the venue would be closed for longer than previously thought, meaning the scheduled production, The Christmas Toy Shop Mystery, had to be cancelled. Since then the Council has been working with Babbling Vagabonds to secure an alternative show and venue.

Tickets are priced at £7.50 and will be on sale from Tuesday 5 December. Those who purchased tickets for The Christmas Toy Shop Mystery will have priority access to buy tickets from Friday 1 November. Tickets are available to buy from derbylive.co.uk, at the Sales and Information Centre, Riverside Chambers, Full Street, DE1 3AF or by calling 01332 255 800.
