Glossop is a small friendly town surrounded by picturesque countryside, and is known as the gateway to the Peak District. The High Street has a friendly vibe and is popular for its local independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. We also have two bookshops :) Glossop is home to many artistic events, groups and people, so it’s a perfect place for this venture.

GlossopBookfest will provide an opportunity for authors and illustrators to meet the public and exhibit their work. The libraries and local bookshops welcome the prospect of meeting more creative artists.

There will be a variety of activities and workshops throughout the afternoon.

We also want to encourage children’s interest in books, so we’ll have a children’s section and also activities for children to enjoy.

Here’s the good thing: The Bookfest will be what you make it. We want you to take control, to make the event diverse and appealing to everyone.

So would you like a stall to exhibit your work?

Would you like run a workshop or activity?

Would you like to promote your writing group, if you’re a member of one?

If you answered ‘Yes’ to any of those questions, we’d love to hear from you!

Please get in touch through captaincuthbertandscatthecat@hotmail.com

I will put regular updates on my page. Captain Cuthbert and Scat the Cat

Details on booking a stall, activity or workshop will be available soon.
