Here Comes Summer Youth Arts Festival comes to the Pomegranate Theatre in Chesterfield

Join us for this brand new festival which celebrates the vibrant youth arts scene, right here in Chesterfeld! There are a series of professional events for young people and families to see and take part in, as well as amateur events performed by dedicated young people.

In the show’s 20th anniversary year, Chester eld College Performing Arts Company present Rent, Jonathan Larson’s hit musical loosely based on Puccini’s opera La Bohème. In the late 1980s, friends in Manhattan’s East Village struggle to build the lives of their dreams. Facing poverty, drug abuse, HIV/AIDS and political unrest, they  nd what really matters most in life. This rock opera is guaranteed to take you on a journey of emotions

One Man Two Governors

Set in 1960s gangster ridden Brighton, this is a fast paced physical comedy by Richard Bean, an English adaptation of a Commedia dell’arte play A Servant of Two Masters - by Carlo Goldoni. The original production premiered at the national theatre in 2011 with James Corden in the lead role. This acclaimed smash hit is a glorious celebration of British comedy - a unique, laugh-out-loud mix of satire, songs, slapstick and glittering one-liners. ‘ red from his skif e band, Francis Henshall becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe. But Roscoe is really Rachel, posing as her own dead brother - who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a job with Stanley Stubbers, but to prevent discovery he must keep his two guvnors apart...simple.

2016 Summer Reading Challenge

The “Big Friendly Read” is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Roald Dahl’s birth. The challenge encourages young people to borrow and read six books from their local library.
