HSG shortlisted for business award

Washroom services and water conservation specialists HSG have been shortlisted for the East Midlands Chamber’s Derbyshire Business Awards.

HSG nominated its technical team for the ‘commitment to people development’ category of the prestigious awards which will be announced at a virtual ceremony on Thursday December 3.

The technical team is responsible for installing and servicing HSG’s Ureco system for which the company received The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation in 2018.

Installed in washrooms at thousands of venues across the UK, the Ureco is proven to save water, money and stop blockages and smells.

The Ureco uses natural bio enzymes to break down waste products and its patented odour lock system controls urinal odours. This enables water flushing to be reduced from more than 90 to just four times a day through the Uretech water manager.

Throughout lockdown, the technical team excelled in their professional and flexible approach to provide an essential service to customer venues – particularly Tesco supermarkets who are a major HSG customer.

HSG managing director Simon Rice said: “We were keen to showcase the calibre of our technical team through the prestigious East Midlands Chamber awards and we are all delighted to have been shortlisted for this category.

“HSG has been established for nearly 12 years and during that time has developed a first class product portfolio to achieve our objective of raising washroom hygiene standards and saving customers water, money and the environment.
“However, this investment and particularly the research and development into the award-winning Ureco system, would be negated without the specialist knowledge and dedication of all of our staff but particularly the frontline technical team.

“The seven-strong team bring a broad skills set to ensure they can rectify on-site issues at customer premises; provide accessible information to customers from site managers to cleaning operatives and be responsive to any situation.
“We of course hope to win the award but being shortlisted is a huge achievement considering the stiff competition from entrants across the county’s business community.”
