On Saturday 23 October, the Museum of Making opens its doors to celebrate makers and all things making with Assemble, Derby’s Making Festival. 

Supreme Champion & Golden Forks announced at Fine Food Show North

The 2021 Supreme Champion and 16 Golden Forks were announced last night at Fine Food Show North.

Guests at Sunday evening's awards ceremony enjoyed canapés incorporating several of this year's Great Taste award-winning products, live jazz and the chance to taste many of the nominees and eventual winners of this year's Golden Forks.

Timms Solicitors Support Carousel-Inspired Arts Trail

Timms Solicitors, which has offices in Burton, Swadlincote, Ashby and Derby have pledged support for the next innovative Burton arts trail which will come to the town centre next summer.

Following on from the success of Burton Swans in 2020, The Big Burton Carousel will feature 30 recycled and reformed plastic sculptures of galloping horses.

Burton Dad Tackles Derby 10k To Celebrate Weight Loss and Family Support

A Burton father-of-three is entering his first organised running event this weekend to mark a milestone in his weight loss and fitness journey.

Mark Judson (35) has shed nearly three stone since January 2021 – combining health eating with running – and is hoping to raise more than £400 for a local charity by entering the Derby 10k this Sunday.

Saturday's varied programme features acclaimed pianist Martin Roscoe, BIF’s Chamber Ensemble: the Corran Quartet, broadcaster Paul Mason, memoirist Meriel Schindler and jazz sensations The XPQ (Xenopoulos, Price) Quartet.
