Kenton Cool comes to Derby's Guildhall Theatre

Derby LIVE is proud to announce that Kenton Cool will be visiting the Derby LIVE’s Guildhall Theatre.

Kenton’s obsession with climbing developed at school, in the Scouts and was furthered at the University of Leeds. In 1996 he suffered a fall from a rock face in North Wales and shattered both heel bones, he was told he’d never walk unaided again. One Man’s Everest is his incredible story.

After almost a year of rehabilitation Kenton started to climb extensively all over the world – establishing new routes and ascents on peaks in Alaska, France, India, Pakistan and Nepal, receiving a nomination for the Piolet d’Or – mountaineering’s Oscar. He now has a staggering 12 summits of Everest to his name. In recent years the Olympic Games Pledge and the Everest Triple Crown – Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse – a feat previously thought impossible, have cemented Kenton’s position as one of Britain’s most high-profile and celebrated climbers.

Kenton Cool will be bringing his talk to Derby’s Guildhall Theatre on Friday 22 September at 7:30pm. Tickets are priced at £17, concessions available, and can be purchased through the Derby LIVE Sales and Information Centre on 01332 255800 or online at derbylive.co.uk. They can also be purchased at the Sales and Information Centre, on the Market Place, Derby, DE1 3AH.
