Kinder Choir concert is a Christmas cracker!

Kinder Choirs of the High Peak will be performing a selection of the most loved and well-known choral classics when they sing at Buxton Opera House on Sunday 12th January.

Musical Director Joyce Ellis has put together a programme which is a real ‘top of the pops’ of choral favourites including ‘Zadok the Priest’, the Hallelujah Chorus, Panis Angelicus and many more.

“You don’t have to be a classical music buff to enjoy this concert as from start to finish we will be singing some of the most well-known, heart stirring music. It will be a perfect antidote to post-Christmas blues, which most of us experience when the presents have been put away and festive parties are a distant memory. So if you are at a loss to think about what to give your friends this Christmas why not give them the gift of music with a ticket to this one-off event!” said Joyce Ellis.

The eighty strong adult choir will be joined by two international soloists, soprano Fflur Wynn and mezzo soprano, Yvonne Howard. Fflur is quickly establishing herself as one of the country’s foremost young singers on the operatic and concert platform having made her debut with English National Opera (ENO) this year and due to appear with Opera North in 2020. Yvonne, is well known to Buxton audiences as she is a great supporter of the Opera House. She studied at the Royal Northern College of Music before her career took off and she now performs regularly with all the major UK opera companies; she is currently with ENO.

Tickets for the concert, which starts at 4pm on Sunday 12th January, are available online from buxtonoperahouse.org.uk or from the Box Office on 01298 72190.
