Peak District & Derbyshire Tourism Awards 2022

 

The closing date to apply for the 2022 Tourism Awards is 23:59 Sunday 19 September, does your business have what it takes to win gold?  In addition to the business category specific awards there are a number of additional cross sector awards such as Team of the Year, Tourism Young Achiever, Unsung Hero, Accessibility, Sustainability and Innovation and Resilience.  The awards as free for members to enter, so what's stopping you?

There are 13 core categories for businesses to apply for, including two new core categories that have been added to celebrate the exceptional work undertaken by the sector in response to the Covid-19 pandemic: the Unsung Hero Award and the Resilience and Innovation Award.

There are also two new local awards – Team of the Year and Tourism Young Achiever – to champion the ‘people behind the businesses’ and to recognise the thousands of local jobs supported by the tourism industry.

The awards are open to all businesses within the boundaries of the Peak District National Park and the county of Derbyshire. Entry is free to current members of Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire, for non-members there is a fee of £150 + VAT per category. Applications open at 09:00 on 16th July 2021 and close at 23:59 on 19th September 2021. Entrants must be based in Derbyshire or within the Peak District National Park boundary and must be part of the visitor economy.

Businesses that have been trading for at least three months and up to two years when applications open are strongly recommended to apply to the New Tourism Business of the Year category before considering applying to any other categories.

Events and festivals are not eligible to apply in any categories due to the likelihood of VisitEngland Awards for Excellence winners not being announced until one or two years after the event took place.

Applications will be judged by a panel of experts in the autumn. Those shortlisted will be notified in October, with winners announced at a prestigious awards ceremony in early 2022.

Gold winners from each of the 13 core categories will automatically be put forward into the 2022 VisitEngland Awards for Excellence, which represent the highest accolades in English tourism.
