Promotions Secured Through Timms Solicitors’ Pathway

Two solicitors at Timms have been promoted to Associates having completed the firm’s innovative Pathway Programme – designed to support staff in their career development plans.

Personal Injury solicitor Natasha Layton and Family Law senior solicitor Dee Khunkhuna have both successfully completed the ten-month Pathway to Associate programme.

This has been specially-designed by Timms to help progress individuals into more senior and management roles.

Solicitors at Timms’ offices in Derby, Burton, Ashby and Swadlincote who meet the set criteria can apply to be part of the bi-annual programme which involves internal and external training and development sessions as well as completion of a business-focused project of their choice.

Dee qualified in 1999 and has spent many years working in the Burton and Derby area – focusing on family matters. She is a member of the Law Society Children Panel and Advanced Family Law Panel and deals with complex children matters and other areas of family law – acting for parents, children and others involved in Local Authority cases.

She said: “This has been a wonderful opportunity to broaden my management skills which will enable me to support newly qualified members of the team and contribute wider to the development of the firm.”

Natasha is a dual qualified Solicitor and Chartered Legal Executive and is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). She has worked in Personal Injury since 2008 and has extensive experience in various areas of personal injury claims including catastrophic and life changing injuries involving head injuries, loss of limbs and amputations. She also represents clients who have suffered industrial injuries such as vibration white
finger, mesothelioma and asbestosis.

She said: “I’m thrilled to have been appointed Associate and I’m excited to continue my development with the firm and have the opportunity to add value to the success of the Personal Injury Department and the firm in general”.

Both Associates will have the opportunity to progress onto the Pathway to Partnership programme in the future.

Timms Managing Partner Fiona Moffat explained: “As a firm with a solid reputation for serving our local communities in an approachable and professional manner, we continue to grow and develop into new areas.

“We have therefore developed the Pathway Programme to bring on talent from within the business and ensure that our legal professionals have a clear line of sight to promotion within the firm.

“As well as celebrating the skills we already have, the programme enhances individuals’ skills and personal attributes to make them the managers of the future for Timms and play a greater role in the firm’s ambitions to do new and great things.

“Both Natasha and Dee thoroughly deserve their promotions to Associate Solicitors and we look forward to future programmes to further build the next generation of managers across our business.”
