Witty Drama Returns To Buxton Fringe After World Cup Clash

A witty drama about falling in love and falling apart returns to Buxton Fringe one year on from their World Cup clash.

“We took “Between Us” to Buxton Fringe in 2018, and two of the three performances coincided with the World Cup semi-finals!” said Sheffield actress Rachel E. Thorn. “The whole country was gripped by football fever.”

“Between Us” tells the inside story of one couple's relationship. The twist is that the show is completely improvised. The performers create new characters and tell a new story every time, all inspired by an anecdote taken from the audience. It’s a compelling watch.

“Buxton is a fabulous fringe festival in a great part of the world,” said co-star Alex Keen. “We can’t wait to share “Between Us” with Peak District audiences again. Maybe this year Gareth Southgate would like to see it too?”

The duo had been booked to perform at Buxton Fringe several months before England’s matches in the World Cup were announced.

Buxton Fringe reviewed “Between Us” and declared it to be “imaginatively conceived, very well-executed and thoroughly engaging”.

“Between Us” is at The Old Clubhouse in Buxton on 4th, 9th, 16th and 23rd July, before a run at Edinburgh Fringe. Tickets are available from: http://2019.underthefringe.com/shows/between-us
