There's just under a week left to get your submissions in for our #LEVELOpenCall - looking for the best Contemporary Visual Art by learning disabled, neurodiverse, disabled and non-disabled artists.

We will be awarding three prizes, selected by our judging panel:

  • 1st place will receive £300
  • 2nd place will receive £200

We will also be conducting a People's Choice Award which will be announced towards the end of the exhibition and will be voted for by the visiting public.

Walking during lockdown has been something that many of us have enjoyed. Whilst we’ve been unable to travel far or get to enjoy our usual way of life, many people have reported getting enjoyment out of just exploring their local areas.

Croots Farm Shop: Cancellation of Open Farm Sunday on 27th June 2021

Regretfully, due to the on-going Covid restrictions, the Open Farm Sunday event scheduled to be held at Croots Farm Shop on 27th June has been cancelled.

Please amend your listings to reflect this change of plan.

We are really sorry to be cancelling such a popular and enjoyable event, but with the postponing of the lifting of restrictions and almost 1,000 visitors due to attend, we felt it was the safest thing to do.

New Institute of Technology could lead the UK’s digital and green revolution

Pioneering graduates from a new East Midlands Institute of Technology (IoT) would lead the UK’s green and digital revolution and form the beating heart of the country’s post-pandemic recovery.

Loughborough College, the University of Derby, Loughborough University and the Derby College Group (DCG) have joined forces on a £13m plan to create the highly advanced workforce needed to lead the digital revolution – otherwise known as Industry 4.0.

Actor Molly Windsor praises local creative project

Derbyshire-born actor Molly Windsor, who is an ambassador for child exploitation charity Safe and Sound, was the guest of honour at a performance to celebrate an innovative creative project for local children and young people.

Safe and Sound teamed up with arts organisations Derby Theatre and Baby People to enable ten boys and girls to join the Youth Voice project as part of the charity’s work to help them overcome their experiences of child exploitation.
