James Wilton Dance returns to Déda, Derby’s creative centre for dance, contemporary circus and outdoor work, with their latest show, LEVIATHAN, on Thursday 10 November at 7.30pm.
Inspired by Herman Melville’s seminal novel, Moby Dick, the show brings Wilton’s trademark blend of athletic dance, martial arts, capoeira and partner-work, back to the stage, having enjoyed much national and international success in recent years.
Derby City Council and partners are pleased to announce that they will present Weeping Window by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper as part of 14-18 NOW’s UK-wide tour of the iconic poppies. The installation will be at The Silk Mill from 9 June to 23 July 2017.

Derbyshire farm shop Croots has struck gold once again with its brilliant bangers after winning awards as part of British Sausage Week 2016.
The farm shop near Duffield received gold awards for its Pork Sausage, Italian Sausage and Welsh Dragon Sausage, along with a silver award for its Lincolnshire Sausage. The awards were made to celebrate British Sausage Week 2016, which runs from 31st October to 6th November and is now in its 19th year.
Buxton Opera House Brings the Community Out in Force to Defend its title of Most Welcoming Theatre in the East Midlands
Buxton Opera House & Pavilion Arts Centre holds the title as the Most Welcoming Theatre in the East Midlands, an award presented (for the second year in a row) by the industry body UK Theatres, after the local community came out in droves to vote for the High Peak theatre once again.
Derbyshire students are benefiting to the tune of £1,000 thanks to the cooperation of Futures Housing Group customers and the generosity of J Tomlinson, the company that services and maintains their boilers.
J Tomlinson operates the maintenance and servicing contract for the housing organisation, and each time the company’s staff are given first-time access to a customer’s home to carry out work, the firm donates £1 to invest into the community.
