Solo Exhibition by Abbie Sunter

Abbie Sunter is pleased to announce the opening of her first solo exhibition at Banks Mill Studios, If You Were Church.

This collection of brand new work explores the beliefs of different cultures from around the world and how each one worships and reveres the animals that lived alongside them. Each sculpture is a unique piece that seeks to connect it to the culture that has inspired it. In a time when we have all been confined to one place, this exhibition really is a trip around the world.

The show will open on Fri 21 May from 6-8 pm with the opportunity to explore the artist's studio and purchase work from Abbie and her studio partner, ceramicist and potter James Pettinger.

Abbie joined the Banks Mill community late in 2018 and works across a variety of mediums, her primary choice however, is clay. From a young age she has been fascinated by history, ancient cultures and religious or occult practices from around the world. Drawing heavily on the influences of nature and world cultures, her work aims to reconnect the viewer to nature through the familiar themes of reverence and worship.

The exhibition will be open to the public week days, 9am-3pm from 24 May until 25 June.
