People Express is a well-established professional arts organisation based in South Derbyshire (25 years old in 2015), with far-reaching and deep-rooted relationships with the communities in the district where it has grown. We have a track record of innovative and high quality participatory and community arts projects that have attracted tonal and international acclaim.

People Express encourages grassroots involvement, with participants sharing responsibility for the planning and progress of projects, leading to them becoming self-sustained. It is the participants (of any age or ability) and the group working together that become the writers, performers, designers, creators and makers, resulting in new artwork, exhibitions performances and films that move, inspire and resonate with audiences.

People Express is a key member of EMPAF (East Midlands Participatory Arts Forum), championing the promotion of the region's strength in the range, quality and diversity of arts engagement.
