The Pomegranate Playwrights are a group of writers and poets formed in 2004 after the New Playwrighting Festival held at the Pomegranate Theatre in Chesterfield.

Members generally write as individuals but collaborate on producing longer works for performance for specific events. The group meets monthly to discuss plans for taking the new writing to other audiences in the region, as well as performing new work at the Pomegrante Theatre and other local venues.
