Accomplished Ladies: Work in Progress

Saturday 6th July 2019

High Peak Bookstore and Café, Brierlow Bar, Buxton SK17 9PY

(Tickets £5)

What if being unmarried at 25 made you a social pariah? What if saying something intelligent meant you were accused of being a witch? What if you were crushing hard on the King of England but he won’t even look your way? These are just some of the agonising dilemmas facing history's most 'Accomplished Ladies': Elizabeth and Jane.

Watch them endeavour to laugh and sing their way through this hour of historical satire while they try to avoid being hanged. Featuring multiple costume changes, Accomplished Ladies will delight you with an extraordinary array of bonnets, titillating jokes and surprise musical instruments.

Imagine Poldark meets Armstrong and Miller but with a modern feminist twist.

Accomplished Ladies are Phoebe Hitt and Georgina Thomas, a refreshing new double act who are skipping their way onto the comedy scene. Musical Comedy Award Quarter Finalists 2019.

Part of the Buxton Fringe Festival 2019.
