Ann Thorsson releases her second novel, Dark Dreams

Derbyshire-born author, Ann Thorsson, has just released her second novel, Dark Dreams

"A dark and disturbing tale of secrets and lies, with a supernatural twist".

If you're looking for something chilling to read now that the dark nights are drawing in, be sure to check out the details..

Originally from Chesterfield, Derbyshire, Ann Thorsson now lives in Iceland, in a house by the sea, just outside of Reykjavík. She still maintains strong links with the North of England - as the old saying goes – “You can take the girl out of the North, but you can’t take the North out of the girl!”
Inspired by her Northern heritage, Ann began writing her debut novel, Downhill, as part of an Advanced Creative Writing course while completing her BA (Honours) degree in English Language and Literature through the Open University. Downhill was published in May, 2019.

Set in the 1980s, in the fictional coal-mining town of Castle Ridge, near Chesterfield, Downhill is a gritty drama about the complicated lives of Ged and Julie, his ‘Lady Juliet’. For those who
remember this formative era in social history, Downhill is a nostalgic trip back in time to lip-gloss, classic rock music, the Miners’ Strike, Maggie Thatcher...it’s all there!

Her second novel, Dark Dreams, has just been released (Sept. 2020) to rave reviews. Dark Dreams tells the story of Maggie Braithwaite, a teenager who endures a series of personal tragedies, only to go on the run to avoid facing the consequences. However, secrets and lies have a way of following Maggie, tormenting her with dark dreams. How long will she be able to run and hide before the truth catches up with her? Will Maggie ever find peace and retribution?
