ANVIL Flora and Fauna

Please come and join us for drinks in the courtyard on the evening of
13th July from 5-8pm

to celebrate the opening of our new exhibition

It is with delight that we invite you to Flora and Fauna, our first exhibition as part of the Old Blacksmith’s Yard calendar.
Our summer event this year, in conjunction with  events organiser Acoustickle, will have a ‘Secret Garden’ theme, and will mean you can wander from the exhibition into both of our beautiful bar restaurants, The Forge and The Palfrey, whilst being wooed by live music from the courtyard.

You’ll be charmed by our featured master painter James Preston’s airy depictions of Derbyshire’s wild and wonderful countryside, and no doubt spot much loved places from in and around the beautiful city we live in too.

Andrew Macara’s new piece is another subtle hint to life on the outskirts of our city, and of course a statement piece of his could not be a better investment.

We also have some spectacular vibrant floral works from gallery favourites Colin Halliday and Kara Strachan,

April  has adapted her signature Carousel pieces for the great outdoors.

So if you have that spot in your garden that you’d like to enhance, long after the bloom of summer has fallen away, here’s your chance to invest in year round sculptural colour, to enjoy forever!

Once you’ve soaked up enough art, you can treat yourself to one of Adam’s sumptuous cocktails at the Palfrey and find out why they are No1 on Trip Advisor, or sit in the evening sun and sample ‘to-die-for’ sizzling steaks, to BBQ yourself – hot rock style at The Forge!
Then let homegrown  jazz, soul and R&B acts entertain you for the evening, in our elegant courtyard, the jewel in the crown of the Derby’s Cathedral Quarter!
