Beauty and the Beast - Pantomime Get-Together/Auditions – 5 September at 7.30pm - New Mills Art Theatre

This is your chance to tread the boards at New Mills Art Theatre in the 2017 pantomime Beauty and the Beast, to be staged by the Friends of the Art Theatre.  A Get-Together at 7.30pm on Monday 5 September at New Mills Art Theatre, Jodrell Street, SK22 3HJ will be held and all are welcome to come along to meet the production team. The Director, Natalie Coverley, will talk about the panto and all the characters, music and story.  Auditions will be held later in September.

There are many principal parts in the show, ranging from the lovely Belle to the fearsome Beast.  As this is the panto version the traditional characters are a must, such as Dame Madame Fifi heading the comedy along with ‘her’ daft son Jacques, Belle’s two outrageously common sisters, Ermengarde and Esmeralda, and even a couple of hilarious beauticians, Marcel and Monique – plus many more - not forgetting a strong company of chorus and dancers.

Last year’s panto, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, scooped up two Association of Community Theatre Awards - the glamorous Debbie Howe for her thoroughly wicked Queen Avarice and handsome Andrew Jordan for his portrayal of principal boy, Prince Farawasia.  This is the third time the Friends have received awards for their now famous annual pantos and they have set their sights on more!

If you don’t fancy performing, but you would like to help out, please still come along to our Get-Together. You could join our Stage Crew, Technical or Front of House teams who are all volunteers, committed to providing high quality live entertainment for the community for more than 50 years.

If you can’t make the Get-Together and would like more information, please ring 07494 029656.  Performance dates are 27, 28, 29 January and 3, 4 February 2017
