Castleward enters phase two

The second phase of the Castleward Urban Village in the centre of Derby will consist of 54 new homes which will be a mixture of low-rise apartments, duplex-style properties and houses.

The Castleward project, situated between the railway station and intu Derby, is being carried out in a number of phases over 15-20 years and will provide 800 new homes and 35,000 square feet of commercial retail space.

Clocking up the experience

Apprentices at Bondholder Smith of Derby have been busy restoring Derby’s historic Harrison clock for installation in the new Museum of Making when it re-opens to the public in 2020.

 


Bondholder CWC Group has appointed Ian Dickinson to the newly-created role of Managing Director.

Ian, who has worked at CWC since 2007, most recently as finance director, has a wealth of experience in senior management roles.

Since 2015, Ian has taken on a broader leadership role within the business during a period of significant growth and development.

The Derbyshire-based group recorded a turnover of £104.9 million and an operating profit of £32.4 million for the financial year 2017-18. This was up from a turnover of £93.2 million and profit of £30.4 million in the 2016-17 financial year.
 

Bondholder Derby Grammar School pupils have spent a morning with fellow Bondholder YMCA Derbyshire learning about homelessness. They were also honoured to plant two shrubs to mark the longstanding partnership between YMCA Derbyshire and the School.

Derby Grammar School’s Year 8 pupils are focusing on homelessness and raising awareness of the issues around homelessness as part of their new PSHE lessons. 


Bondholder Smith Cooper was named Medium Practice of the Year at the East Midlands ICAEW Awards.

This award follows Smith Cooper winning three highly prestigious awards during 2018 including Midlands Advisory Team of the Year, East Midlands Corporate Finance Team of the Year and Regional Insolvency team of the Year.

Summer Nights is back

Various dates

Summer Nights Outdoor Film Festival has announced venues, dates and films for its 2019 festival which runs from 4th July to 22nd September. Back for a ninth year, the festival has expanded to twenty locations across the country.

Presented by Bondholder QUAD on an inflatable screen, Summer Nights is the chance to enjoy a unique open-air cinematic experience at stunning heritage venues.

Venues include Kedleston Hall, Calke Abbey, Mickleover Sport, Bolsover Castle and Hardwick Hall.
