Football Fun and Games Raise Money For Local Charity

Staff at independent funeral directors G Wathall & Son have raised £417 for a local charity – collected at a number of community events.

The family-owned firm, which celebrates its 160th anniversary this year and now has offices in Derby city centre, Alvaston, Borrowash and Ashbourne, attended several community events over the past year where visitors were invited to test their football skills in return for a donation.

Creative Masterclasses March 2018

We are pleased to launch a special season of one day Creative Masterclasses around South Derbyshire in a whole range of subjects. We have some excellent practitioners
providing exciting opportunities with something of interest for everyone. From award winning artists to master craftspeople, we’ve sourced local experts experienced in delivering workshops to provide opportunities for you to discover and develop skills in your chosen area.

Matinée project reflects on first-year success

A project that helps people with dementia and their carers, family and friends combat isolation is celebrating after a successful first year.

Matinée, an Arts Derbyshire project which is funded and supported by us and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, arranges film screenings around the county.

Venues are transformed into specialised dementia-friendly settings, including café-style seating, warmer lighting and volunteer staff on hand to offer help when needed.
