COVID-19: Live & Local Rural & Community Touring Cancels All Forthcoming Events

It is with great regret that, due to the continuing global public health crisis, and following Government's updated advice on 16 March, Live & Local has taken the decision to cancel all forthcoming rural touring and community cinema events effective immediately.

Following recent government guidelines, and in light of public concern, Live & Local Rural & Community Touring has taken the difficult decision to cancel all live shows in order to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19. We are sad to announce that all events taking place until the end of the season (March, April and May) are no longer happening as planned. All community cinema screenings have also been suspended for this period. We are sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience this may cause. Our foremost concern is the safety and well-being of our audiences, voluntary promoters, artists and staff who have shown us such fantastic support over the years. Our Autumn & Winter season is currently not affected.

John Laidlaw, Executive Director of Live & Local said: It is with great sadness that I have made the difficult decision to cancel all scheduled events from today. This is a hard thing for me to do, but the circumstances are unprecedented. I am gutted that these brilliant shows will not be seen in the coming weeks. But be assured that our resolve and determination to keep our rural and community touring scheme going is stronger than ever. We look forward to welcoming audiences again to a Live & Local event in their community but for now, we thank everyone for their support and understanding and send warm wishes to all for their good health and that of their families.'

Important information for affected ticket holders

Audiences that have a ticket to a cancelled performance should contact the point of sale for a refund. However, in these difficult times, Live & Local is inviting its audiences to consider leaving their ticket refund unclaimed, turning their purchased ticket into a donation to support the artists and companies whose shows have been cancelled, and who are suddenly losing all their income for the foreseeable future.
