Derby College Announces Apprenticeship Vacancies
More than 60 jobs and apprenticeships will be on offer at an information day on Wednesday May 11 at Derby College’s Ilkeston campus in Pimlico between 12 noon and 4pm.
The free event includes information about a wide range of jobs and apprenticeships available to start in the coming months and several employers with vacancies will be attending to meet applicants including epm:technology, ASG Group and the Army. The College has been appointed by a wide range of businesses and organisations across the East Midlands to recruit apprentices in a wide range of roles. These include Administration, Business Support, Childcare, Construction trades, Customer Service, Dental Nursing, Digital marketing and web development, Electronics, Engineering and Manufacturing, Hair, Beauty and Barbering, Hospitality and Catering, Horticulture, Motor Vehicle and Warehousing.
Derby College Business Development Director April Hayhurst said: “As we approach the summer and the end of the academic year, this is the perfect time for young people to think about their future career and training options. “It is heartening that a wide range of businesses are looking to expand their workforce through the apprenticeship programme and recognise the attributes that young people bring to their business are an investment in the future.” She continued: “For young people, apprenticeships are the opportunity to earn while they learn – combining valuable work experience with nationally recognised qualifications. “And businesses benefit from harnessing the energy and enthusiasm of young people, teaching them the skills they need to grow their business and ensuring that they do not face future skills gaps with an ageing workforce. “As part of our support to businesses – we provide a recruitment service to help them find the young people who will benefit their organisations and pre-apprenticeship training programmes to support young people with the skills they need to be successful in their search for jobs.”
