Derby Telegraph confirmed as final sponsor for the Derby Ram Trail

It’s fab-ewe-lous news for Derby, as the Derby Telegraph offer their support to the Derby Ram Trail.

The Derby Telegraph will work closely with Derby Museums to help promote the Derby Ram Trail, coming to Derby in May this year.

The free discovery trail will run from 27 May to 22 August 2021, when 30 stunning 5ft Ram sculptures, each designed and painted by a different artist, will be dotted all over the city.

Alongside the trail, Derby city school children have also been invited to take part in a city wide competition, with the chance to get their own mini rams designed on the theme ‘what is important to me, right now’ on a School Mini Ram Trail around the Museum and Art Gallery.

Natalie Fahy, Editor of the Derby Telegraph said: “The Derby Ram Trail will be a great outdoor celebration for our city this summer and we are looking forward to supporting this fantastic opportunity for people to get back onto the streets and enjoy what our great city has to offer”.

Jennifer Cuadrado, Project Lead at Derby Museums said: “We are delighted to have the Derby Telegraph confirm as the final sponsor, adopting our 30th ram for the trail. This is great news for both the trail and the city as we work together to promote this joyful, ram-ificent, outdoor, city-wide event.”

It is estimated that the trail will generate more than £8 million of economic value for the region, promote well-being and an active lifestyle, while encouraging people to shop local and support our city, people and businesses once it is safe again for us to do so.

Derby Museums is the charity behind the project, working with Wild in Art who have animated cities across the world including Sydney, Melbourne, Cape Town and São Paulo, and enabling more than £12 million to be raised for charitable causes.

The Rams will be auctioned off at the end of the project to raise money for Derby Museums’ Endowment, supporting our city’s heritage. Every pound fundraised through the trail will be doubled with match funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Derby Ram Trail is supported by presenting partner Cathedral Quarter BID, trail partner St Peters Quarter BID, education partner Rolls-Royce and media partner Derby Telegraph.
