Immersive tech studio Bloc Digital announce new virtual platform product

Digital visualisation and immersive tech studio Bloc Digital are supporting the global shift to digital integration and communication with the launch of virtURL®, a new virtual events and product showcase platform.   

The Derby based company, which pioneers business and industry use of immersive and creative technologies, has announced the industry roll-out of its new digital online solution which combines person-to-person communication and networking in a customisable, interactive, virtual environment.

If you're looking for something to keep the kids busy this half-term, make sure you check out a new series of video tutorials by the Barn's Artist in Residence, John Sutcliffe. These videos, specially for kids, take you through the process of making your own light-up bug from a milk carton. Watch the first part of the tutorial above, with the two remaining videos accessible by heading to John's YouTube channel.

The events and workshops are held at country parks, industrial heritage sites and canal side venues, designed to appeal to all the family with some offering the chance to learn new skills.

Derbyshire Craft Business gets a boost from Theo Paphitis

A Derbyshire based firm has received a business boost from Retail Entrepreneur Theo Paphitis. Last week, Sarah Hodgkinson owner of Crafty You Crafty Me tweeted Theo about her business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet by Theo to his near half a million Twitter followers. The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, now has over 3,000 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK.
