Film Maker being sought for a new Made In Derbyshire Dance Project

Derbyshire County Council is looking for a Film Maker, for their project celebrating the dance work of people with disabilities, as part of the Made in Derbyshire 2015 programme.

Background

Derbyshire County Council is commissioning a film maker to film dance activities being performed in Derbyshire, as part of the All Dance project. All Dance is a Disability Dance Platform which will bring together disability groups from across Derbyshire who will perform at Cliff College, Calver on Tuesday, 24th November and Friesland School on Wednesday, 25th November 2015.

Brief

The Film Maker will film, edit and produce a film recording these two major events and rehearsals for these events. The film will document the experience of some of the participant performers during rehearsals, at both events and record some participant and audience reactions from individuals on the day.

This film will take the dual role of documenting the project and as an evaluative tool.

The film maker will liaise with the Creative Producer, Roma Gee regarding locations and timings of filming. The Creative Producer will also be consulted about the final editing and style of the film.

The finished film is to be produced in an e-version in .mov, a copy on Vimeo and 4 copies on DVD disk.

Key dates and timescale

The key dates for filming are at the All Dance events on Tuesday, 24th November and on Wednesday, 25th November 2015.  A further one or two half days filming may also take place during the rehearsal period (at different sites between October-November), to be agreed between the Film maker and Creative Producer.

The completed film will be delivered by Thursday, 17th December 2015.

Location

The filming will be carried out in different locations across Derbyshire. The performance events are at Cliff College, Calver, Hope Valley and Friesland School, Sandiacre.

Budget and payment

The total budget for the film artist is £2,000. This fee includes planning, filming, editing, production time and travel expenses.

Payment will be made by invoice in two stages.  The first payment of £1,000 will be made on the receipt of the signed agreement.  The second payment of £1,000 will be made on delivery of the film, in all formats.

Management

The Film maker will liaise with Roma Gee, Creative Producer for the All Dance project, reporting to Ann Wright, Head of Arts at Derbyshire County Council.

The film maker will be expected to provide their own equipment for filming, editing and producing the film, in all the formats stated.
