FORMAT Conference and Publication Call for Papers

FORMAT International Photography Festival Conference & Publication
Call for Papers

Deadline
Monday 19th November 2018

We welcome proposals for the FORMAT19 one day conference organised by FORMAT/QUAD and DMARC, the Digital and Material Artistic Research Centre of the University of Derby, taking place on Friday 15th March 2019 as part of FORMAT19 opening weekend.

If you would like to take part in this conference and publication please submit an outline of your ideas exploring the festival theme of FOREVER//NOW, which offers a visual interrogation of our collective sense of place, memory, histories and potential futures. A dual concept, the festival theme looks at the intrinsic nature of photography; how it considers ideas of immortality, eternity and the preservation of our memories while considering the current state of photography and the consequences of image proliferation in the digital era.

For more information on the call for papers and research themes see here

All proposals will be considered from anywhere in the world, and we are keen to receive submissions from people working both within and outside of the creative arts. Please include the length and format of your presentation and any technical requirements.

Selected presentations will be considered for presentation and publication.

Your proposal should be a maximum of 300 words including a short 100 word biography.
Please send it to: p.harris1@derby.ac.uk

Deadline: Monday 19th November 2018
