Hubbub Theatre Company are an exciting integrated physical theatre company working with actors with moderate learning disabilities. Hubbub creates original devised work for indoor and outdoor performance. The company is in an exciting phase of development thanks to Arts Council Elevate funding and this is an ideal time to get involved with and expanding and developing theatre company.

Hubbub Theatre Company offer a ‘Get involved’ programme of theatre activity including The Hubbub Club nights, regular weekly workshops and an outreach programme. We are currently looking to recruit a co-facilitator for our weekly groups The Hub (Wednesdays) and Hubbub Youth (Saturday afternoons) to work alongside our Movement Practitioner.

The ideal candidate(s) will:

  • Be skilled and experienced in physical theatre and drama facilitation, process and performance.
  • Be enthusiastic, creative and a good team player
  • Be flexible, adaptable and have a good sense of fun
  • Have some experience, or a keen interest in developing skills in working with young people and adults with moderate learning disabilities.

We welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds with and without disabilities.

We will consider creating 2 freelance posts – 1 for The Hub (adults) and 1 for Hubbub Youth (13-18).

Hours required: Wed 6 hours (9.30- 3.30) for the Hub + Sat 2 hours (2.45 – 3.15) for Hubbub Youth.  There may be the possibility of additional hours and further opportunities within the company for the right person.

Venue: Deda, Chapel Street, Derby, DE1 3GU

Rate of pay: £15 per hour co-facilitation. £10 an hour planning and prep (1 hour a week)

Interviews for successful applicants: Thursday 14th September.

If successful at interview, candidates will be invited to The Hub on Wed 20th Sep 1-3pm and will be asked to deliver a 20 minute drama exercise with the group.
