HSG Helps Businesses Prepare To Re-Open

Derby-based washroom hygiene services and water conservation specialists HSG have launched a new initiative to help businesses prepare for a smooth return to trading once lockdown restrictions start to be eased.

HSG’s Hygiene Audit - a health and wellbeing assessment for businesses - aims to give business owners peace of mind that they are doing everything they can to ensure the safety of their customers and staff moving forwards.

HSG’s technical team, based in Pride Park have continued to work during lockdown having been confirmed by several customers as being a critical supplier.

These customers include supermarkets who have continued to require washroom services in order to enable them to continue to operate and best support the national response to Covid-19.

The team has therefore continued in full employment providing they or their family members are not vulnerable and therefore required to self-isolate with capacity to carry out the on-site Hygiene Audit in the local area.

Following the assessment, the team will provide a non-committal report that will outline recommended areas for improvement from a hygiene perspective.

Solutions could include upgrading existing facilities such as hand sanitiser, soap and towel dispensers as well as new innovations such as no-touch door opening and social distancing reminder floor mats.

Simon Rice is managing director of HSG which gained The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation in 2018 for its vanguard product – the Ureco washroom water conservation system.

He said: “When the UK starts to move out of lockdown and businesses can open their doors again to staff and customers, first-class washroom facilities must continue to be everyone’s top priority.

“These unprecedented times have reminded us all that hand washing is vitally important to prevent the spread of this and wider viruses and disease and the consensus is that this will be the ‘new normal’ as we move forward.

“Staff and customers alike will, quite rightly, have higher expectations of washroom hygiene standards in the places that they work and visit and all businesses from offices to restaurants need to take this on board.

“We are therefore offering a Hygiene Audit initially to businesses in and around Derbyshire to ensure that we can meet demand and then further afield if practical to do so.

“We hope that this will give businesses peace of mind that they are fully prepared to re-open their doors and to provide reassurance to their staff and customers that measures have been taken to protect their health and well-being in these continued challenging times.”
