Hopefully 2018 is going well so far for you and believe it not February is here already! If you haven't had a chance to get to the studios recently now is the time to take a look, treat yourself and get booked in to get creative.

WORK: Call for artists

We are pleased to invite artists to apply to participate in WORK, an ambitious and innovative two-year practice development programme that will support animation and moving image artists to develop, produce and exhibit films in collaborative contexts.

Working with partners across the Midlands - Fermynwoods, Thrapston; Junction Arts, Chesterfield; Vivid Projects, Birmingham; and QUAD, Derby – the programme will explore ideas and the realities of what ‘work’ means for the way we live today, engaging directly with the experiences of contemporary working lives.

A New Home for the Anvil Gallery!

We have news to share, exciting news! We are moving so that the gallery that you know and love can develop into an even bigger and even better Anvil Gallery, perfect for exhibitions, workshops and events!

Don't worry though, our new address - 11 Old Blacksmith's Yard - is a stones throw away, just around the corner into the Yard and on the right. In fact we already share a stair case and our neighbours are the same!

Cory Seznec: new music from the old presented by the Cory Seznec Band

This soulful set by the Franco-American Cory Seznec and his band encapsulates the musician’s eclectic taste and experiences from across the globe.

A vibrant mix of American folk and blues blends perfectly with African music, interspersed with tales and anecdotes that influenced the songs.

DaleDiva in Concert

3rd March 2018 - Crich Glebe Field Centre – 7:30 pm

 

Derbyshire’s leading female 4 part close harmony choir, DaleDiva, is performing in Crich to help raise funds for DayCare at the Glebe. With a repertoire ranging from pop to choral, folk to rock, and everything in between, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Derby Theatre Friday 2 until Saturday 24 March

Derby Theatre and award-winning Derby brewery Dancing Duck have announced an innovative partnership. From Friday 2 to Saturday 24 March the stage and auditoria of Derby Theatre will be transformed into a pub for the Theatre’s big production for the spring, Jim Cartwright’s highly acclaimed comedy TWO.
