Since July 2011 the NWG Network has continued to grow and develop. Now supporting more than 14,000 members across the Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic Youth Participation Lead who can demonstrate creative methods of ensuring we can continue to encourage and develop youth participation through a range of opportunities with our network.

Job title: Youth Participation Lead 

Salary: Starting salary from £25,000 pro rata (dependant on experience) 

Location: The role is based in the NWG Network HQ (Derby)  

Hours: 18.5 hours per week 

Accountable to: Response Unit Lead 

Key liaisons: Local Authorities, Non-Governmental and Private Organisations 

Job purpose: To encourage and develop Youth Participation initiatives

Scope of work: Youth participation is about giving young people the opportunity to have their voices heard and to help them make decisions for themselves.

It is the participation worker's role to help support and empower young people and facilitate their engagement.
The NWG role for youth participation is to encourage and work with areas wishing to develop youth participation in the context of Child Sexual Exploitation, sharing practice and initiatives, offering strategic and operational support to professionals.
You will be based in the highly skilled Response Unit team and will assist them to integrate youth participation through their work.
This post offers the opportunity to be creative and innovative round the involvement of young people in strategic and operational developments.
We are looking for an experienced youth participation officer for a part time post.
