NEW MILLS FESTIVALS RETURNS FOR 2019 WITH ALL YOUR FAVOURITE EVENTS!

New Mills Festival is very pleased to announce that, after a year concentrating on volunteer recruitment and fundraising, 2019 will see the return, along with all your favourite events, of the festival Lantern Procession Finale, Art Trail and Big Weekend.  New Mills Festival 2019 will be held from Friday 13 to Sunday 29 September. If you would like to take part, run an event, submit to the Art Trail or volunteer to help out at any of the events (including the lantern workshops and procession) you can find full details on our website www.newmillsfestival.co.uk. We would be very happy to hear from you. Also new for 2019 watch out for details of our ‘Friends of New Mills Festival’ scheme. NEW MILLS FESTIVALS LAUNCHES CALL FOR VISUAL ARTS

New Mills Festival is delighted to announce the return of the festival Art Trail and Big Weekend for 2019. The Trail forms part of New Mills Festival which takes place across the town from the 13th to the 29th September 2019. Submissions are now open to artists wishing to take part in the two-week long trail and weekend finale and will close at midnight 5th May 2019.

Work has begun on the cultural extravaganza that will be New Mills Festival 2019 and we would love you to take part!

NEW MILLS FESTIVAL & WRITE And RELEASE Poetry Trail - CALL FOR ENTRIES

For the second time, the New Mills Festival will host a poetry trail filled with verse ranging from the silly to profound. Accepted poems will be displayed in shop windows around New Mills for the duration of the festival (13 – 29 September 2019). Entries close 15th July. HAZEL O'CONNOR HALLELUJAH MOMENTS TOUR

Award winning actress and singer-songwriter, Hazel O’Connor, who rose to fame in the 1980s in the film Breaking Glass  and performing its accompanying soundtrack, will play in New Mills on 30th March 2019 in support of the New Mills Festival. Saturday 30 March 2019 St. George’s Church, Church Lane, New Mills (SK22 4NP). Doors open at 7.00pm. THE ASKEW SISTERS

New Mills Festival and Spring Bank Arts Centre are very pleased to announce The Askew Sisterswho are making waves on the folk scene with their energetic brand of English folk music. This intimate concert event will take place at the beautifully restored Spring Bank Arts Centre, a gothic revival style church in the centre of New Mills, and will be the first in a series of collaborations and fundraisers for 2019. Details are: Friday 12th April 2019.
